George Arthur Foster is a retired American professional baseball player and scout who had a successful career as an outfielder in Major League Baseball from 1969 to 1986. He played for teams such as the Cincinnati Reds, San Francisco Giants, New York Mets, and Chicago White Sox. Foster was a five-time All-Star known for his powerful right-handed hitting, leading the National League in home runs in 1977 and 1978, and in RBIs in 1976, 1977, and 1978. He was awarded the NL MVP in 1977 and a Silver Slugger Award in 1981. Foster was honored with induction into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame in 2003.
