(German Military Aviator ) Hugo Sperrle was a German military aviator who served in both World War I and World War II. He began his military career in 1903 with the Imperial German Army before transitioning to the Luftstreitkräfte as a pilot. In the inter-war period, he served on the General Staff in the Reichswehr before joining the Luftwaffe when the Nazi Party came to power. Sperrle played significant roles in the Spanish Civil War, Battle of France, Battle of Britain, and The Blitz. However, he was later dismissed from his command due to his air fleet's ineffectiveness against Allied forces.
