She was the first Philippine president's spouse to hold the official title of First Lady. Her commitment to community service was highlighted by her role as the inaugural chairperson of the Philippine National Red Cross. Unfortunately, she was tragically assassinated alongside her daughter as they were en route to inaugurate a hospital honoring her deceased husband.
