Elena Ceaușescu was a Romanian communist politician and Deputy Prime Minister of Romania. She was the wife of Nicolae Ceaușescu, who was the General Secretary of the Romanian Communist Party and leader of the Socialist Republic of Romania. Elena played a significant role in the government, holding various positions of power and influence. However, following the Romanian Revolution in 1989, she faced a swift downfall and was ultimately executed alongside her husband on 25 December of the same year.
