Sergey Anatolievich Preminin, a Soviet Russian sailor, gained recognition for his heroic actions on the nuclear submarine K-219. His pivotal role in averting a nuclear disaster involved manually adjusting damaged control rods under challenging conditions. Tragically, he sacrificed his life when he could not escape the reactor compartment due to a jammed hatch caused by pressure buildup. Preminin was posthumously honored with prestigious awards, including the Order of the Red Star, the medal of Hero of the Russian Federation, and the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland".
