Description:
(Seaman) Fletcher Christian, an English sailor, is famous for leading the mutiny on the Bounty in 1789. He was appointed as master's mate on the HMS Bounty in 1787 and later became acting-Lieutenant during a voyage to transport breadfruit plants. Christian's relationship with Lieutenant William Bligh worsened during a layover in Tahiti, resulting in the mutiny where he took control of the ship and expelled Bligh.
