Florence Henri

Florence Henri was a surrealist artist recognized for her contributions to photography and painting. Her artistic journey began with extensive travels across Europe, followed by studies in piano in Berlin during WWI. Upon returning to Paris, she delved into formal art education under prominent painters and at the Bauhaus in Dessau. Henri's time at the Bauhaus proved instrumental in her transition to photography as her main medium until 1963. She later redirected her focus to painting until her passing in 1982, creating experimental photography, advertising, and portraits of fellow contemporary artists.
