Mar Samuel

Metropolitan Mor Athanasius Yeshue Samuel, known as Mor Samuel, was a key figure in the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch. He served as the First Metropolitan and Archbishop in the United States and Canada, as well as the Metropolitan of Jerusalem. Mor Samuel was instrumental in the discovery and acquisition of the Dead Sea Scrolls, notably the Isaiah Scroll. He later moved to the United States and continued his service in the Syriac Orthodox Church, eventually becoming the Archbishop of the newly formed Archdiocese of the United States and Canada.
