Georgy Dobrovolsky

Georgy Timofeyevich Dobrovolsky was a Soviet cosmonaut who commanded the three-man crew of the Soyuz 11 spacecraft. Sadly, Dobrovolsky and his crewmates were the first humans to die in space due to asphyxiation from an accidental valve opening. Despite this tragedy, Dobrovolsky was posthumously honored with prestigious awards, including the title of Hero of the Soviet Union and the Order of Lenin, for his significant contributions to space exploration.
