Banastre Tarleton

Banastre Tarleton was a British general who served as lieutenant colonel of the British Legion during the American Revolutionary War. He also held commands in Portugal, Ireland, and England. Tarleton led the British Legion in North America and later served as a Member of Parliament for Liverpool, representing the Whig party. He was known for his interest in military affairs and his opposition to the abolition of the slave trade.
