(Teacher) Debra Lafave is a former teacher at Angelo L. Greco Middle School in Temple Terrace, Florida. Her teaching career came to a controversial halt when she pleaded guilty to lewd or lascivious battery against a teenager in 2005. This conviction stemmed from a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old student in mid-2004. As a result of her plea bargain, Lafave avoided prison time but was sentenced to three years of house arrest, followed by seven years of probation. She is also required to register as a sex offender for life.
