Description:
(British Politician and Diplomat) Sir James Brooke, a British soldier and adventurer, established the Raj of Sarawak in Borneo and served as its first White Rajah from 1841 until his passing. Having been raised during the Company Raj in India, he resigned from the Bengal Army and assumed the role of governor in Sarawak following his involvement in quelling a rebellion. Renowned for his efforts in suppressing piracy, reinstating the Sultan of Brunei, and facing scrutiny in the British Parliament for his anti-piracy tactics, Brooke received recognition for his contributions in Southeast Asia.
