(American Former Diplomat, Journalist and Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs (1997 - 2000)) James Rubin is an American ex-diplomat and journalist who held the position of U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs during the Clinton Administration. He also wrote a foreign affairs column for The Sunday Times of London. Rubin went on to host his own show, World News Tonight, on Sky News before moving to a commentator role for the channel. In 2022, he was named Special Envoy and Coordinator for the State Department's Global Engagement Center.
