Moncure Daniel Conway, an American abolitionist minister and radical writer, lived much of his life in England and France. He was connected with different religious groups, including Methodist, Unitarian, and Freethinker. Conway gained recognition for his biographies of prominent individuals like Edmund Randolph, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Thomas Paine, as well as for his autobiography. He played a significant role as a leader among freethinkers at London's South Place Chapel, later renamed Conway Hall.
