Karine Ruby, a highly acclaimed French snowboarder and Olympic champion, was known for her exceptional skills on the slopes. She earned two Olympic medals and numerous victories at the FIS Snowboard World Championships and World Cup events. The New York Times dubbed her "the most decorated female snowboarder in the world." Ruby also competed in esteemed competitions such as the Winter X Games and Winter Olympics before transitioning to become a mountain guide. Sadly, her life ended in a climbing accident in 2009.
