(Ice Hockey Player) Alexander Peter "Fats" Delvecchio had a distinguished career in the NHL, spending his entire playing career with the Detroit Red Wings from 1951 to 1973. He played 1,549 games and recorded 1,281 points, ranking second in NHL history in games played, assists, and points upon retirement. Delvecchio won the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy three times for sportsmanship, helped the Red Wings secure three Stanley Cup victories, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1977. He later served as head coach and general manager of the Red Wings.
