He played for the San Diego Chargers in the AFL and NFL, as well as the Dallas Cowboys. Alworth's career spanned 11 seasons from 1962 to 1972, during which he established himself as one of the greatest wide receivers in history. In 1978, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, becoming the first primarily AFL player to receive this honor.
