He won the 2000 FIM Road Racing World Championship and achieved runner-up status in 1999. Known for his eight Premier Class race victories, Roberts Jr. is part of a distinguished father-son duo alongside his father, Kenny Roberts, both 500cc World Champions. In 2017, he was inducted into the F.I.M. MotoGP Hall of Fame.
