Phil Read, an esteemed English motorcycle racer, excelled in Grand Prix motorcycle racing from 1961 to 1976. He made history by being the first competitor to win world championships in the 125 cc, 250 cc, and 500 cc classes. Despite being overshadowed by Mike Hailwood, Read secured seven FIM Grand Prix road racing world championships. His remarkable contributions to the sport led to him being appointed as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) and being inducted into the MotoGP Hall of Fame.
