Valerios Leonidis is a well-known Greek weightlifter and current weightlifting trainer. Throughout his professional career, he has achieved significant milestones, such as winning an Olympic silver medal at the 1996 Atlanta Games in the 64 kg division and securing two silver and one bronze World Championship medals. Known for his versatility across different weight classes, Leonidis became widely recognized for his rivalry with world-record holder Naim Süleymanoğlu. He transitioned from the Soviet Union to Greece in 1991 and was honored as the 1994 Greek Male Athlete of the Year.
