(Australian Rugby Union Player) Daniel Herbert is an Australian rugby union administrator and former player. He won 67 caps for the Australia national team as a centre between 1994 and 2002. Herbert played a key role in Australia's 1999 Rugby World Cup victory and was known for his aggressive defense and line-breaking ability. He was named in the 'Team of the World Cup 1999' and won the 'L'equipe International Player of the Year' award in the same year. Herbert also served as Queensland Reds captain and Australian Vice-captain before retiring due to a serious neck injury in 2004.
