Sophie Polkamp, a retired Dutch field hockey player, had a successful career as a defender for Dutch clubs Stichtse Cricket en Hockey Club and Amsterdamsche Hockey & Bandy Club. She also represented the Netherlands national team, winning the Women's Hockey World Cup in 2006 and the Champions Trophy in 2007. Polkamp achieved Olympic gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Games and the 2012 London Games before retiring from international competition in 2013.
