Janet Guthrie is a pioneering American former racing driver who broke barriers in motorsports. She made history as the first woman to qualify and race in prestigious events such as the Indianapolis 500 and the Daytona 500 in 1977. Originally an aerospace engineer, Guthrie transitioned into racing after working in the field for several years. She also became the first woman to lead a lap in NASCAR Cup Series competition. In recognition of her groundbreaking achievements, she was honored with the 2024 NASCAR Landmark award.
