Gilles Panizzi, a former French rally driver, is renowned for his exceptional skills on tarmac surfaces. He started his career in the French Championship, securing titles in a Peugeot-backed car before becoming Peugeot's specialist for asphalt rallies. Between 1999 and 2003, Panizzi achieved significant success by winning seven World Rally Championship rounds on tarmac. He later joined Mitsubishi and continued to compete in the WRC. Panizzi also had stints with Red Bull Škoda and participated in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge. His most recent rally appearance was in 2021 driving a Hyundai i20 R5.
