Maurício Gugelmin, a former racing driver from Brazil, competed in both Formula One and Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART). In Formula One, he took part in 80 Grands Prix, achieving one top-three finish and earning a total of ten championship points. Transitioning to CART, Gugelmin raced in 147 events, winning one race in 1997 and finishing fourth in the championship that year. He also had a notable showing at the Indianapolis 500 in 1995 and set a world speed record for a closed race track in 1997 before retiring in 2001.
