Matthew Nicholas Biondi is an accomplished American swimmer and water polo player. He has won a total of eleven Olympic medals and held world records in various events. Biondi competed in three Summer Olympic Games, earning eight gold medals, two silver, and one bronze. His achievements include setting records in the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter freestyle events. Notably, at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, he secured five gold medals and set records in the 50-meter freestyle and three relay races. Biondi's impressive career has led to his induction into both the International Swimming Hall of Fame and the United States Olympic Hall of Fame.
