She made history as the youngest golfer to qualify for the U.S. Women's Open at age 12. Turning professional at 15, she won the Navistar LPGA Classic at 16, setting a new record. Thompson continued her success by winning the Dubai Ladies Masters and securing her first major championship at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2014. She is one of the youngest LPGA major winners to date.
