Description: (Singer-songwriter)

Johnny Gill Jr. is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor. He is also known as “JG,” “Johnny G,” and “J Skillz.” Born and raised in a musical family in the US, he began singing in his family gospel group at an early age. His mature voice attracted attention, and he recorded his first album while still in high school. His albums scored well on the charts. Later, he joined the boy band ‘New Edition’ as a replacement of their lead singer. A single from their album, ‘Heart Break,’ topped the ‘R&B charts.’ Following this, Gill released a number of albums as a solo artist and achieved remarkable success. He then formed a supergroup, ‘LSG,’ along with Keith Sweat and Gerald Levert, and together, they recorded two hit albums. After one more album with ‘New Edition’ and another solo album, Gill formed the group ‘Heads of State’ with former ‘New Edition’ bandmates Bobby Brown and Ralph Tresvant, with whom he toured the country. He launched his own label, ‘J Skillz Records,’ and released an album, ‘Game Changer’ through his label. Gill has also been part of a number of TV shows and films. He has not married, although he has a son named Isaiah.
