Kizito Mihigo was a prominent Rwandan gospel singer, songwriter, and peace activist known for his dedication to healing and reconciliation. He was a talented composer of sacred music, a television presenter, and a survivor of the Rwandan genocide. Mihigo founded the Kizito Mihigo Peace Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on promoting peace and forgiveness. Despite facing imprisonment for challenging the official narrative of the genocide and allegedly plotting against the government, he continued his efforts towards unity and reconciliation until his untimely death under suspicious circumstances in custody.
