Q-Tip, also known by his stage name, is a prominent American rapper, record producer, singer, and DJ. He rose to fame as a key member and main producer of the influential alternative hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest in the late 1980s. Q-Tip later co-founded The Ummah production team and achieved success with his solo albums. In addition to his music career, he has delved into acting, featuring in various films, and has become highly regarded as a DJ and radio show host. Q-Tip currently serves as the artistic director for hip hop culture at the Kennedy Center and teaches jazz and hip hop at New York University's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.
