Peter Eardley Sarstedt was a British singer-songwriter and instrumentalist known for his pop music that incorporated ballads inspired by traditional folk music. His most famous song, "Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)?" topped the UK Singles Chart in 1969. Despite having one more hit single and album, he did not achieve the same level of chart success again. Sarstedt released the album England's Lane in 1997, which continued the story of a fictional character. He retired in 2010 due to health issues after touring in 1960s revival-type shows.
