Exene Cervenka is an American singer, artist, and poet, best known as a vocalist and one of the founding members of the California punk rock band 'X.' The band eventually came to be known as one of the finest bands in the American punk scene of the mid-1970s. It had a significant influence on many contemporary and upcoming rock bands. Cervenka has contributed as a singer and lyricist for all the team studio albums of 'X.' While performing with the music group, she got involved with a side project called 'The Knitters.' When 'X' got disbanded in the late 1980s, Cervenka pursued a solo career and released a couple of solo albums, most of which were collaborative projects. Her other projects include spoken-word albums, along with Wanda Coleman and Lydia Lunch. 'X' reunited in the 1990s and released a bunch of studio albums. Cervenka is also known as a founding member of the short-lived punk band 'Auntie Christ.' She has also collaborated with the punk band 'Original Sinners,' which released their debut album in June 2002. In addition to music, Cervenka has authored books, too.
