Anna Moffo was an American opera singer, television personality, and actress renowned for her warm and radiant lyric-coloratura soprano voice. She became popular in Italy through her appearances in prominent operatic roles on television. Debuting at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Metropolitan Opera in the late 1950s, Moffo recorded for EMI Records and RCA Victor and hosted her own show on Italian television. In the 1970s, she expanded her career to Germany but experienced a vocal breakdown in the early 1970s.
