Scotty McCreery is an American country music singer. He came to limelight when he was crowned the winner of the tenth season of American Idol and he became the youngest male participant to have won the show. His musical journey began early; he started playing guitar at the age of ten and was known to impersonate Elvis as a child. He performed for his school choir and took part in several local music festivals. He released his debut album soon after winning American Idol and made history when it soared the charts to be certified platinum in the United States. His Christmas album released in the subsequent year was certified gold. To top the honor of receiving both a platinum and gold album, he’s achieved one gold single and three platinum singles. Two of his songs were placed in the top ten of Billboard's Country chart. In the recent years, he's successfully climbed to the top on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart with his single 'Five More Minutes'. McCreery has a philanthropic side to him as well and regularly takes part in fund-raising events.
