Andy Hertzfeld is a distinguished American software engineer renowned for his substantial impact on the technology sector. He was instrumental in crafting the Macintosh system software at Apple Computer in the 1980s. Post his time at Apple, he co-established thriving enterprises such as Radius, General Magic, and Eazel. Hertzfeld later partnered with Mitch Kapor to champion open source software. From 2005 to 2013, he worked at Google, where he was involved in designing the Circles user interface for Google+.
