(Philosopher) Paul Montgomery Churchland is a Canadian philosopher known for his contributions to neurophilosophy and the philosophy of mind. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh under Wilfrid Sellars and became a full professor at the University of Manitoba. Later, he held the Valtz Family Endowed Chair in Philosophy at the University of California, San Diego, with appointments in the Institute for Neural Computation and the Cognitive Science Faculty. Currently, he is Professor Emeritus at UCSD and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Moscow Center for Consciousness Studies.
