Ruhakana Rugunda

Ruhakana Rugunda is a Ugandan physician and politician with a distinguished career in government service. He has held various cabinet positions under President Yoweri Museveni since 1986, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Internal Affairs. Rugunda also served as Uganda's Permanent Representative to the United Nations. From 2013 to 2014, he was the Minister of Health before being appointed as Prime Minister in 2014, a position he held until 2021. Rugunda's involvement in peace talks with the Lord's Resistance Army has been highlighted in a case study by Harvard University.
