Jason Newsted is an American musician recognized for his significant role as the bassist of Metallica from 1986 to 2001. He initially started his music career with Flotsam and Jetsam before joining Metallica after the tragic death of Cliff Burton. Following his departure from Metallica, he collaborated with bands like Echobrain and Voivod before forming his own band, Newsted, in 2012.
