Alex Greenwald is an American musician, record producer, and actor, best known as the lead singer of the rock band ‘Phantom Planet.’ Born and raised in Los Angeles, Alex was always interested in music. While he was still a teenager, he joined the band ‘Phantom Planet’ with three of his friends. The band released four studio albums but is best known for their single ‘California,’ which was used as the theme of the TV series ‘The O.C.’ Most of the band’s albums did not gain much critical or commercial success. ‘Phantom Planet’ went on an indefinite break in 2008. Alex, however, collaborated with several other musicians for various projects. In 2009, he started another band, ‘JJAMZ,’ currently known as ‘Phases.’ Alex has released two albums with ‘Phases,’ namely, ‘For Life’ and ‘Suicide Pact.’ He also acts occasionally, and his most notable role was in the Jake Gyllenhaal-starrer ‘Donnie Darko,’ which featured Alex in the role of a bully. He has been engaged to actor Brie Larson for quite some time. This has also contributed to his nationwide fame.
