Tex Beneke

Tex Beneke, an American saxophonist, singer, and bandleader, was renowned for his collaborations with bandleader Glenn Miller and other prominent musicians. Leading his own band, he also worked with artists such as Eydie Gormé, Henry Mancini, and Ronnie Deauville. Beneke's memorable recordings include solos on "In The Mood" and vocals on "Chattanooga Choo Choo" with the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Jazz critic Will Friedwald acknowledges him as a significant blues singer of the early 1940s big band era.
