Nate Mendel is a well-known American musician recognized for his role as the bass guitarist in the rock band Foo Fighters and his previous work with Sunny Day Real Estate. He has partnered with different musical groups including The Jealous Sound and The Fire Theft. Mendel also explored a solo path, releasing an album under the name Lieutenant. As the second longest-serving member of Foo Fighters after Dave Grohl, he has played a part in all of the band's studio albums since The Colour and the Shape.
