Nicola Benedetti is a highly acclaimed classical solo violinist and festival director of Italian and Scottish descent. Her exceptional musical talent shone from a young age, earning her prestigious awards such as the BBC Young Musician of the Year at 16. She regularly collaborates with orchestras in Europe and America, often partnering with pianist Alexei Grynyuk. Notably, she has been playing the Gariel Stradivarius violin since 2012. In 2019, Nicola established The Benedetti Foundation, a music education charity, and made history by becoming the first woman to lead the Edinburgh International Festival in 2022.
