(Baseball Second Baseman) Gerald Peter Remy, also known as "RemDawg," was a former American professional baseball player who went on to become a beloved sports broadcaster. He played second base for the California Angels and the Boston Red Sox during his ten seasons in MLB. After retiring from playing, Remy joined NESN in 1988 as a color commentator for Red Sox games, a role he held for 33 years. His commentary eventually expanded to over-the-air television. Remy was known for his exuberance, humor, and distinctive New England accent. In addition to his broadcasting work, he owned restaurants in Boston and authored books on baseball.
