Shepard Smith is an American television anchor, currently working as the chief news anchor and managing editor of the breaking news division of the Fox News Channel. Best known for his rapid-fire and sometimes sarcastic delivery of news, he developed an interest in broadcast journalism at the age of thirteen. Later, he entered the University of Mississippi, but quit before earning his degree in journalism, beginning his career at the age of twenty-one with WCJB-TV in Gainesville. He worked in various other places like Fort Myers, Miami, Orlando and Los Angeles, finally establishing himself in New York City, where he started working as a New York-based general assignment reporter and senior correspondent with the Fox News Chanel. During his long association with the organization, he has covered almost all important events across the world and was adjudged as one of the most trusted news anchor on both network and cable news in a TV Guide poll by the age of thirty-eight.
