He currently holds the position of Editor-in-Chief at The Indian Express and has authored six novels that have been translated into more than 12 languages. Jha's work in journalism and fiction has received recognition both nationally and internationally, including prestigious awards such as the Commonwealth Writers Prize and the Rabindranath Tagore Literary Prize. He has also been honored with accolades like the Tata Literature Live! Book of The Year and the Mumbai Press Club Journalist of the Year. In September 2021, Jha was awarded the Editor of The Year title by the India Chapter of the International Advertising Association Annual Leadership Awards.
