Isatou Touray

Isatou Touray is a prominent Gambian politician, activist, and social reformer known for her advocacy against female genital mutilation. She made history as the first female presidential candidate in The Gambia in 2016. Touray later served in President Adama Barrow's cabinet as both trade minister and health minister. In 2019, she was appointed Vice-President of The Gambia, succeeding her predecessor in a significant cabinet reshuffle.
