(Former 3rd Vice President of the People's Republic of China (1983 - 1988)) Ulanhu, also known as Ulanfu, was the founding Chairman of China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from 1947 to 1966. He held the nom de guerre "Red Son" and was nicknamed the "Mongol Prince." Ulanhu served as Vice-Premier from 1956 to 1966 and later as Vice President of China from 1983 to 1988. He was the highest-ranking minority official in PRC history, known for his loyalty to the Mongolian people and the PRC.
