E. M. S., also known as Elamkulam Manakkal Sankaran Namboodiripad, was a prominent Indian communist politician and theorist. He became the first Chief Minister of Kerala and served two terms in office. As a member of the Communist Party of India (CPI), he played a key role in establishing the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)). E. M.
