(5th Prime Minister of India (1979 - 1980)) Charan Singh was an Indian politician and freedom fighter recognized for his land and agricultural reform efforts. He served as the prime minister of India briefly and was a Member of Parliament for Baghpat. Singh also held the roles of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Deputy Prime Minister of India. He was a key figure in the Janata Party and later established the Lok Dal party. Throughout his career, Singh championed farmers' rights and welfare.
