(Politician) Brian Edward Sandoval is an American politician, academic administrator, and former federal judge who served as the 29th Governor of Nevada from 2011 to 2019. He began his political career in the early 1990s and held positions such as member and chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission, Nevada Attorney General, and judge of the United States District Court for the District of Nevada. Sandoval was elected governor in 2010 and re-elected in 2014 before serving as the president of the University of Nevada, Reno from October 2020.
